Program: Summer Society and Climate Change in Kenya

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Type: International Teaching
Role: Co-Instructor
Term: Summer 2024

Co-instructed a program focused on climate change and its impacts in Kenya, where I guided 20 students through a unique educational experience. The program featured visits to the University of Nairobi and the Institute of Climate Change Adaptation, where students learned about local research on climate change and its effects on both the environment and communities. As part of the program, students participated in a game drive in a nearby national reserve, observing firsthand the effects of climate change on wildlife migration patterns. The experience also included discussions on ongoing mitigation efforts in place to protect ecosystems and support local communities. This program offered students a comprehensive understanding of climate change challenges and solutions in East Africa.
